What We Do · Consulting & Value Creation
Pest control business consulting: pricing, routes, retention, data and AI
Novare Partners advises pest control operators on finance and operations: margin by service line and customer, route density, technician productivity, retention, price increases, and territory and capital decisions. On systems, data and AI, we connect FieldRoutes to the books and build data warehouses, dashboards and AI agents. Novare Partners also builds Novare Pest, analytics for pest control operators.
Who it's for
Who we work with
Owner-led pest control companies with recurring customers, multiple technicians and data in several systems.
Novare Partners works with pest control operators that share these traits.
- Owner-led, with the owner making the big calls
- Residential and commercial customers on recurring service plans
- Multiple technicians running routes across the service area
- Data in a field-service system such as FieldRoutes
- Books, call tracking and reviews kept in separate systems
We believe strong operators deserve to win.
The work
Decisions we help pest control operators make
Questions from both tracks, answered with your own data and reconciled to the books.
An engagement can cover questions from either track, or both.
Finance & Operations
What is route density? Route density is how many stops a route has and how close together they are. A dense route fits more stops into a day with less drive time between jobs, so each tech-hour brings in more revenue. We measure it by route and by technician, using stops per route, drive time between jobs and revenue per tech-hour.
Which service lines and customers actually earn margin?
Margin by service line, customer and job type, after drive time, labor, materials and callbacks are counted. General pest, mosquito, termite and add-on services are each measured on the same basis.
Are our routes dense enough?
Revenue per tech-hour, stops per route and drive time between jobs, by route and by technician. The output shows which zip codes to grow, reprice or exit.
Did the price increase work, and where did it cost us customers?
Before the increase goes out, we segment recurring customers by service line, tenure and current price. We then build base, upside and downside cases with a cancellation guardrail. Afterward, we read back revenue and cancellations against a control group or a clean before-and-after.
Should we enter this territory, add a service line or buy trucks?
Base, upside and downside cases for each option, with the breakeven point, maximum cash at risk and the effect of a slower ramp. Trucks and equipment are tested as buy, lease or wait.
What will a buyer focus on?
Buyers generally look at recurring revenue mix, customer retention, route density, margin, and clean books and reporting. We measure each of these drivers from your own data, so you can see where the company stands.
Systems, Data & AI
How do we get FieldRoutes, the books and call tracking into the same set of numbers?
We connect the field-service system, accounting and call tracking to a database or data warehouse, reconciled to the books. Every report then uses the same definitions of revenue, customers and margin.
Which customers are at risk of cancelling?
Visits, calls, reviews, balance and service history matched to each account, with at-risk signals before a customer cancels. The office gets a list it can act on, with the account history in view.
Which marketing actually brings in customers?
Cost per lead (CPL), customer acquisition cost (CAC), return on ad spend (ROAS) and lifetime value (LTV) by channel. Ad spend is tied to the customers it produced, and calls are classified as new sales or current customers.
Where can AI agents take routine office work off the team?
AI agents working on your own data draft lead follow-ups, reminder messages, invoice follow-up and call summaries. A person on your team approves what goes out.
Can we ask questions of our own data in plain English?
An AI analyst built around your business answers from your own data, with the source shown. Questions that come up every month become dashboards and tools that refresh on a schedule.
The method
How the work runs
The same method on every decision, shown on an illustrative price increase.
Every engagement follows the same method, from the opening question to a working tool. Guardrails come first, results are read back conservatively, and recurring questions become tools.
Illustrative example
A pest control operator is considering a price increase on recurring service plans. This is an illustrative scenario and does not describe a client.
Frame
Agree on the decision and its guardrails up front: breakeven point, maximum cash at risk and target margin.
In the example: which plans are in scope, and how many cancellations the increase can absorb and still come out ahead.
Underwrite
Build base, upside and downside cases from your own books and job data, reconciled before any figure is shown.
In the example: customers segmented by service line, tenure, current price and route, with cancellations modeled for each segment.
Decide
Sit down with the owner for a clear go, no-go or "go if" decision, with the downside and the cash in plain view.
In the example: go if the increase is staged by segment and the cancellation guardrail holds.
Pilot
Begin with a test group and a control group, or a clean before-and-after, so the result can be measured.
In the example: the increase goes to a test group of routes while a matched group stays at current prices.
Read back
Measure what happened, with seasonality and growth stripped out, and attribute results conservatively.
In the example: revenue gained, customers lost and calls to the office about price, compared with the matched group.
Scale, fix or stop
Act on the read, then turn the recurring question into a dashboard or tool so the answer stays current.
In the example: extend the increase, adjust it for weaker segments or stop, with the price-change read-back kept running.
Systems, data and AI work follows the same steps. A build is framed against a goal, scoped from real data, piloted with real users and read back before it scales.
Novare Pest and custom tools
Analytics and software alongside the advice
Novare Partners builds Novare Pest and custom tools that keep the answers current.
Novare Pest
Novare Pest is analytics and software for pest control operators, built by Novare Partners. It connects to FieldRoutes, and the FieldRoutes sync runs every 6 hours. Podium and CallRail are set up by our team during onboarding; they aren't self-serve.
- Operations dashboards: overview, revenue, customers, sales, technicians, routes and ops, accounts receivable and billing
- Customer 360: subscriptions, visits, reviews and balance for each customer, plus Podium conversations and calls where Podium is set up
- Calls: answer rate, missed calls awaiting callback and call outcomes (sold, serviced, cancelled), with a by-rep leaderboard and call log. Calls needs FieldRoutes plus Podium.
- Geo Intelligence: customer density, average recurring value, churn and new sales by zip
- List Build: win-back, upsell and open-balance lists, saved and exported
- Marketing and ad-spend views: on the roadmap
Your data
Novare Pest reads from FieldRoutes; Novare Pest does not change your FieldRoutes data. We are happy to walk through how your data is handled.
Beta
Novare Pest also has an operating platform, now in beta with pest control operators. Early access is available through novarepest.com.
Custom tools on your own data
Novare Partners builds these tools on your own data as part of an engagement. Each tool connects to the systems you already use, refreshes on a schedule and is reconciled to the books.
Route density and fleet model
Stops per route, drive time between jobs and how full each day really is, with consolidation scenarios and a downside case for partial adoption.
Price-change read-back
Compares a price change against a control group or a clean before-and-after, with growth and seasonality stripped out, net of the cost of running it.
Cost-to-serve analyzer
Ranks customers, routes and service lines by contribution margin and revenue per tech-hour, after drive time, labor, materials and callbacks are counted.
AI analyst
An AI analyst built around your business. Ask a question in plain English and get an answer from your own data, with the source shown.
Data foundation
FieldRoutes, the books, call tracking and reviews brought into a database or data warehouse, with shared definitions of revenue, customers and margin.
Engagements
How do engagements work?
Every engagement starts with the Business Diagnostic.
Scope and cost are agreed in writing before any work begins.
Entry point

A defined piece of work with a fixed scope, on either track.
Finance & Operations: Pricing & Margin Overhaul, KPI Dashboard Build, Cash Forecast or Budget, Routing & Capacity Study.
Systems, Data & AI: System Integration, Data Foundation (database or data warehouse), Agentic AI Build, Workflow Automation Build, Custom Internal Tool.
Monthly KPI & Forecast Pack
A monthly KPI pack and rolling forecast, reconciled to the books, with a short monthly review. This is the lighter option for owners who want the numbers kept current.
Case study
Case study: which marketing brings in customers?
A residential pest control operator, its field-service, call, review and ad data in one place, and an AI analyst on top.
Case study · Systems, Data & AI
One source of truth, plus an AI analyst
We brought the operator's field-service, call, review and ad data into one place and added an AI analyst. The owner asked which marketing brings in customers and had the answer in seconds: search ads and reviews, not paid social.
Result: +115 customers a year on the same budget. Seconds to answer, not a day of exports.

Questions
Questions about pest control consulting
Answers on the work, the data, the cost and how Novare Pest fits.
Is there a consultant who specializes in pest control finance and analytics?
Yes. Novare Partners works with pest control operators on finance and operations (margin by service line, route density, retention, price increases and territory decisions) and on systems, data and AI (integrations, data warehouses, dashboards and AI agents). Novare Partners also builds Novare Pest, analytics for pest control operators, and works with other owner-led service businesses.
How can I make my pest control company more profitable?
Start by measuring where the company earns and loses money: margin by service line, customer and route, after drive time, labor, materials and callbacks are counted. Novare Partners then works the levers the data points to, such as pricing, route density, technician productivity, retention and marketing, with base, upside and downside cases before you commit. We also connect FieldRoutes, the books and call tracking so the numbers stay current.
Which pest control services make the most money: general pest, mosquito or termite?
It depends on the company, and the answer comes from its own data. Novare Partners measures margin for each service line, including general pest, mosquito and termite, after drive time, labor, materials, callbacks and the cost to acquire customers are counted. The result informs pricing, growth and bundling decisions for each line.
Can you help with a price increase?
Yes. Novare Partners prices the increase before it goes out, with base, upside and downside cases by segment and a limit on how many cancellations it can absorb and still come out ahead. Afterward, we read back the result against a control group or a clean before-and-after, with seasonality and growth stripped out.
What do buyers look at when valuing a pest control company?
Buyers generally focus on recurring revenue mix, customer retention, route density, margin, and clean books and reporting. Each buyer weighs these drivers in its own way. Novare Partners helps owners measure each driver from their own data and decide which to work on.
What kinds of pest control companies do you work with?
Novare Partners works with owner-led pest control companies, residential and commercial, with customers on recurring service plans and multiple technicians running routes. Their data is usually spread across several systems: a field-service system such as FieldRoutes, the books, call tracking and reviews. We work with them on finance and operations decisions and on systems, data and AI.
Do you only work with pest control companies?
No. Pest control is a focus for Novare Partners, alongside other owner-led service businesses: HVAC, plumbing and electrical; lawn and landscape; pool service, cleaning and janitorial; and commercial print and job shops. Consulting & Value Creation describes the work across these industries.
Do we need to use Novare Pest to work with you?
No. Novare Partners consulting works on the systems you already use, such as FieldRoutes or another field-service system, your books and your call tracking. Novare Pest is analytics for pest control operators, built by Novare Partners, and you can use it alongside an engagement or on its own.
What data do you need?
Usually a monthly profit and loss statement, a job or invoice export from FieldRoutes or your accounting system, and accounts receivable aging. Route data, technician hours and a price list help if you have them. For systems questions, we also ask for your current system list and access. Files are shared through a secure link, never through the contact form.
What does it cost?
It depends on scope. Scope and cost are agreed in writing before any work begins. The Business Diagnostic has a fixed fee, agreed before work begins, and you keep all outputs either way.
What decision is in front of you?
Tell us about it, and we will tell you what we would need to answer it.
Please don't send financial files through the contact form. We set up a secure link after we understand the question.
